JP Bommel

JP Bommel has been named NATPE’s CEO & President after serving as Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer since September, 2015. Prior to working at NATPE, Bommel was President and Founder of BCi, a global event marketing company with clients such as High Beam, SXSW’s official event organizer, Willie Nelson’s company Austin City Limits Live and Cannes Lions.

Bommel, a U.S. citizen originally from France, has held several executive positions and has extensive experience at global media and entertainment firms such as Sony Music, BMG Entertainment, Capitol/EMI, Qwest Communications and Reed Exhibitions.  Prior to running BCi, Bommel was Vice President, Business Development, Entertainment Division at Reed Midem, helping launch their digital specialty markets.

During his music industry career, Bommel developed global marketing plans for iconic talent such as Tina Turner and the late Etta James and also nurtured rising talent. He was responsible for opening the music divisions in emerging markets in Asia and Latin America for Sony, BMG and Capitol/EMI. In a visionary role, he also directed Qwest Communications to leverage the power of the then-rising internet and launched Qwest “anywhere anytime” digital media and entertainment practice, signing up major record companies, TV networks and media organizations including NBC, CBS, EMI and Sony, as well as sports teams like the New York Giants.

A trusted advisor to the media and entertainment industry, Bommel presides over several media and entertainment groups. He is currently an associate member of NARAS (Grammys), sits on the advisory board of the International Radio Festival Zurich and is a Board Member of the T.J. Martell Foundation
